About Liaodong University
Liaodong University is located on the banks of the Yalu River and the Yellow Sea, across the river from Sinuiju City, North Korea. It is the closest national university to the border and the only provincial public undergraduate university in China with the characteristics of being located along the border, the coast, and the river. The school's history can be traced back to the Andong Commercial School in 1912, and it has gone through several stages of development. In 2003, Liaoning Finance College and Dandong Vocational and Technical College merged and upgraded to Liaodong University. LDU covers nine disciplines such as economics, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and art. The school currently has 1,529 faculty and staff, including 960 full-time teachers. There are more than 16,000 full-time students. The school has 13 colleges, including the School of Economics, School of Management, School of Foreign Languages, School of Textiles and Clothing, School of Agriculture, School of Information Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering and Machinery, School of Civil Engineering, School of Art, School of Humanities and Education, School of Medicine, School of Science, and School of Tourism and Culture. LDU actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, actively implements the national "Belt and Road" initiative, and offers English-taught bachelor's degree courses such as computer science and technology, textile engineering, and international trade, as well as Chinese language undergraduate courses for international students from Asia, Africa and other countries. insists on expanding opening up and cooperation, and has established long-term friendly exchanges and cooperation relations with more than 60 universities in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries, and has successively recruited more than 700 international Chinese teacher scholarship students.
